In a major initiative to expand the horizon of Bangladeshi manpower export, a high-level delegation from Sena Kalyan Overseas Employment Services Ltd. (SKOESL) and Yume International visited the Trust Technical Training Institute (TTTI) at Savar Cantonment today.
The delegation was led by Major Mehedi Hasan (Retd), Deputy General Manager of SKOESL, accompanied by Mr. Kabir Bhuiya from Yume International. They were warmly received by the institute’s Managing Director, Brig Gen Md Omar Faruque, ndc, afwc, psc, MPhil (Retd), and Additional Director, Major (Retd) Jasim.
The primary objective of this visit was to identify and collaborate on training pathways that meet international standards for skilled migration not only to Japan but also to key markets in the Middle East, Europe, and beyond.
A Hub for Global-Standard Technical Training
Located at Senwalia, Savar Cantonment, TTTI is a premier ISO 9001:2015 certified institution managed by the Army Welfare Trust. Its military-backed administration ensures a unique blend of technical excellence and strict discipline—two critical factors for workers aiming for success in competitive global markets.
During the tour, the delegation inspected TTTI’s expansive workshops and laboratories, assessing their capability to produce “Super Skilled” workers required for modern industries worldwide.
Targeting Diverse International Sectors
The visit highlighted several key technical trades that align with the demands of employers across different regions:
1. Construction & Industrial Trades (Middle East & Europe): For the booming infrastructure sectors in the Middle East and the high-demand technical roles in Europe, the delegation reviewed TTTI’s rigorous training in:
- Welding and Fabrication: Critical for heavy industry and construction.
- Plumbing and Pipe Fitting: A constantly in-demand trade globally.
- Electrical House Wiring: Essential for residential and commercial projects.
- Refrigeration & Air Conditioning: A vital skill for the Gulf region and industrial sectors elsewhere.
2. Mobility & Transport: The delegation visited the Driving-cum-Auto Mechanics wing. With the global shortage of professional drivers, TTTI’s comprehensive program—offering both driving licenses and mechanical maintenance skills—was identified as a key asset for potential deployment to Europe and the Middle East.
3. The Japan Opportunity (G2G & SSW): While the scope was global, the presence of Yume International emphasized the continued focus on Japan. The team assessed how TTTI’s technical curriculum could be integrated with Japanese Language Training (N4/N5) to prepare candidates for the Technical Intern Training Program (TITP) and Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) visas, particularly in Caregiving and Construction (Scaffolding).
Future Collaboration: A Pipeline for the World
The discussions with Managing Director Brig Gen Md Omar Faruque (Retd) were highly strategic. He emphasized TTTI’s readiness to tailor courses to meet specific country requirements, leveraging funded projects like SEIP (Skills for Employment Investment Program) to support underprivileged yet talented youth.
Major Mehedi Hasan reaffirmed SKOESL’s commitment to prioritizing TTTI graduates. “Our goal is to brand Bangladeshi workers as disciplined, skilled, and reliable professionals,” he stated. “Whether for the high-tech environments of Japan or the large-scale projects in the Middle East, TTTI’s graduates possess the ‘soldier-like’ discipline that international employers value most.”
The visit concluded with a consensus to establish a robust recruitment pipeline, ensuring that SKOESL can swiftly tap into TTTI’s talent pool for diverse global opportunities.
